The Jordan Tourism Board is thrilled to announce the launch of the very first edition of the Jordan Meeting Planner’s Guide. The new publication is considered a comprehensive guide to planning meetings and conferences in Jordan; one of the top meeting destinations in the region. In 2018 Jordan ranked second in the Middle East for number of conferences and meetings held according to statistics issued by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). The newly published meeting planner’s guide is full of all the vital information a meeting planner would require to create an ideal, customized program for their event.
An all-inclusive illustrated one-stop shop guide to Jordan which details all information on meeting facilities, accommodation, professional congress organizers and destination management companies, events, and unique venues– all shown with wonderful full-color photography and up-to-date capacities for convention venues, accommodation and more.
“The guide, an initiative of the Jordan Convention Bureau (JCB); a unit within the Tourism Board, offers a comprehensive and informative resource to both local and international meeting planners,” says Dr. Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board. He continues to state: “The release of this official guide should signify how serious Jordan is towards the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector. Whilst producing this guide, the focus was primarily on showcasing Jordan’s capabilities, emphasizing its strengths and broadening its image as an established destination for business meetings by providing informative content presented in high-quality design. PCMA and the Jordan Convention Bureau (JCB) have partnered to provide business events education to business events industry stakeholders in Amman, Jordan.
The new partnership was facilitated by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism (BEST) project, which seeks to enable Jordan’s transformation into a globally competitive tourism destination.
The first educational workshop resulting from the new partnership took place Jan. 18-19 at The Regency Grand Palace Hotel Amman, bringing together 25 industry professionals from the area for sessions designed to share effective strategies to increase competitiveness so they can help attract more regional and international business to Jordan.
Eduardo Chaillo, CEO of U.S.-based Global Meetings and Tourism Specialists, and Jane Culcheth Beard, a U.K.-based experiential marketing director who is the former head of Strategic Events at HP, led the two-day workshop.
In sessions and through exercises, attendees increased their understanding of the dynamics of the global corporate meetings sector, decision-making processes, and how DMCs, meeting planners, and others can work effectively with the Jordan Convention Bureau to promote the destination.
In 2018, the International Congress and Convention Association’s (ICCA) global rankings named Jordan one of the fastest-growing association meetings destinations in the world. USAID BEST, however, recognized a huge opportunity to capitalize on Jordan’s assets to attract, increase, and retain more corporate business events. The partnership grew out of that need.
“This partnership is extremely important for Jordan,” Luma Al-Khatib, head of the Jordan Convention Bureau , told Convene in an email. “It helps open channels of communication and give great opportunities for different kinds of development for the destination in the meeting business in general, and especially for an emerging destination like Jordan.”
PCMA and the JCB are in talks to bring webinars and future educational workshops to JCB members in 2020 and beyond.
(Amman - November 01, 2019) – International rock band Coldplay has announced they are launching their anticipated album “Everyday Life”, on Friday, November 22, 2019 with two performances in Amman, Jordan – livestreamed on YouTube.
According to the band, Coldplay chose Jordan for its natural beauty and historical and cultural significance, while also reflecting the middle eastern flavors and motifs that permeate the album’s music and artwork. The band added “We’re really excited to launch our new album in Jordan. It has always felt like the perfect place for these two special shows.”

Jordan Tourism Board is proud to be one of the entities supporting this international event that will take place in Amman. Known in the ancient world as Philadelphia, the city of Amman has been inhabited since the Bronze age, and has been a home to a diverse range of ancient civilizations.
The album is being pre-promoted on an international scale, teaser posters featuring the band members in black and white vintage-style photos surfaced mid-October in cities all over the globe, including Amman, Berlin, Hong Kong, Madrid, São Paulo and Sydney.

“I am certain this collaboration will have an economic impact on Jordan when we welcome media and Jordanians to attend Coldplay’s album reveal, and we hope the global audience for the concerts will encourage more people to visit Jordan.” Arabiyat said.
“Everyday Life” is a double album, split into two halves, “Sunrise” and “Sunset” and will feature 16 songs, one of which is titled “Bani Adam” and is written in Arabic script. “Bani Adam,” literally translates to “Children of Adam”, The track is inspired by the 1258 AD poem of the same name by Iranian poet Saadi Shirazi who was recognized for his artistic work that revolves around social responsibility and morality.
Coldplay were formed in 1997 and are currently the biggest-selling British band of the 21st century. They have won seven Grammys and eight Brit Awards.

With a total of 5 routes connecting between 4 countries, the new routes are a part of the ever-growing partnership between Jordan and easyJet. HE Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Majd Shweikeh, elaborated: “Jordan has witnessed a tremendous positive shift in the tourism sector in 2018, and in 2019, the momentum is still as steadfast as it was last year. This expansion is the result of very hard work and we can see the results of our efforts with LCCs on the ground in every tourism attraction. We look forward to more success in the future with more routes and more tourism arrivals which will encourage more development and investment in this vital sector.”

The new routes will operate with two weekly flights from Venice, Geneva and Milan to Aqaba during the winter season. EasyJet already operates winter seasonal flights to the Red Sea city of Aqaba from London and Berlin making the number of routes operated to Aqaba by easyJet a total of five.
(Amman - May XX, 2019) – Jordan Tourism Board has signed a partnership agreement with EnjoyJo project, the brainchild of 17-year old King’s Academy student Robert Said, which aims to enhance the Jordanian tourism sector by providing additional valuable services to Jordan-bound tourists. The project was created with an aim to benefit both the tourism industry and local businesses, as well as add value to tourists when visiting Jordan, all without incurring any cost by JTB nor the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, said: “Jordan has always been recognized as a young country with a beating heart that strives for more innovation. Young Mr. Said has impressed us with his creative forward thinking, manifested by his refreshing EnjoyJo idea that aims to enhance the tourism experience in Jordan with practical modern tools. Our doors are always open for all kinds of ideas that can truly stand out, bring more to the table and infuse a difference in the industry.”
EnjoyJo project entails providing tourists with a package that includes the EnjoyJo offers card, a mobile data line from one of the local telecom operators and great offers from local businesses, venues and unique experience providers. Moreover, tourists would be able to download a mobile app, which would easily enable them to benefit from all these services and offers.
Upon using EnjoyJo system, tourists would obtain significant rewards as they spend more in local businesses -which would reflect positively on these businesses. The project would incentivize tourists to visit places other than the internationally known sites and engage in local experiences. In addition to the ability to market Jordan, its hospitality, sites and businesses, EnjoyJo will also aid in gathering intelligent feedback from tourists thus helping the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities focus on what is performing well and implement improvement where needed.
I see a lot of potential in Jordan, especially in tourism. Throughout the years, we hosted many friends who have never been to Jordan. Often, their visit only constitutes of going to Jerash, Petra, Wadi Rum, and sometimes Aqaba. Although those are breathtaking sites to see, there is so much more Jordan can offer, and a lot of what Jordan can offer comes from local businesses. I formulated an idea that addresses this. Enjoy-jo provides tourists with unique experiences being exposed to those hidden gems, it helps local businesses thrive, and it helps propel Jordan’s economy. I want to thank JTB, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Crown Prince Foundation for making this possible, and I also want to encourage Jordanian youth to share their ideas because they too can make a difference.
EnjoyJo app has been adopted by JTB and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, is supported by Crown Prince Foundation, and will launch mid-July.

Dr. Arabiyat pointed to the importance of photography as a tool to promote the country if it’s delivered the right way by the right people; hence, the importance of Muheisen’s work and his efforts to deliver the beauty of Jordan through his eyes.
Meanwhile, Muheisen mentioned the importance of delivering the right image of the Kingdom to the world, adding that it is his duty and responsibility as a Jordanian to present the authentic image of the country to the world through his art. Moreover, he mentioned the efforts and the important role that Jordan Tourism Board plays to promote the country that encompasses all the elements of beauty and authenticity.
Muheisen insisted on the importance of fact-checking and delivering the right image and information of the country, away from rumors that could harm the image of the Kingdom.
