Royal Jordanian suspends operations to five destinations

Online campaign: JTB launched in January an online campaign that includes banner adverts and other advertising over a variety of key online media. In addition there will be a dedicated micro site promoting Jordan integrated to The Guardian online website. This Jordan site will engage consumers via the different experiences that Jordan offers; from floating in the Dead Sea to diving in the Red Sea, from the 200th Anniversary of the Rediscovery of Petra to state of the art Spas. In addition to the consumer led activity there is a bespoke Agents Guide to Selling Jordan hosted by TravelDaily media.
   
Destinations consumer show: Following attendance at the Manchester Destinations show in January, JTB will exhibit at the Destinations consumer show in London which takes place in February and attracts approximately 40,000 consumers. This event is the ideal opportunity to engage consumers directly and in particular raise awareness of the 200th Anniversary of the Rediscovery of Petra. JTB, in partnership with Royal Jordanian, is giving prizes to celebrate the Anniversary.
   
International ConFex: Jordan Tourism Board will exhibit at the International Confex event in 2012, an exhibition specifically for the Meetings, Incentives and Conference market. This is the first time that JTB is attending the event and is further evidence of the commitment that JTB has to all segments of the travel market.
   
Television coverage – Heaven on Earth: Heaven on Earth is a new travel show due to featuring on Channel 5 in the UK. Jordan will have two 8-minute slots on the show which will highlight the country’s rich history, glamour, relaxation, RSCN and eco-tourism. Filming took place take place in Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Feynan, Amman and Jerash. Jordan is due to debut on the show at 7pm (GMT) on 9 February, with the second part expected to hit screens on 22 March.
