Jordan Tourism Board launched Tuesday a tourist convoy in three Australian cities to market Jordan as an international tourism destination.

JTB General Director Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat ,who headed the convoy said that the three-day campaign which covers three major Australian cities and includes a number of travel and tourism agencies aims at marketing the Kingdom as a major tourism destination in the region.

Arabiyat added that Australia is one of the most new promising tourist markets ,where JTB started to implement various promotional campaigns to attract tourists from that country in accordance with the Kingdom's national tourism strategy .

He explained that the number of Australian tourists who visited Jordan last year amounted to about 24,000 tourists, while the number of overnight visitors stood at 22,000.

"JTB outdoor promotional and marketing campaigns aim at attracting and increasing the tourists visiting Jordan as well as opening new markets to promote the Kingdom's tourism products by establishing traveling exhibitions in new markets including Brazil, Turkey, Australia and Scandinavian countries," Arabiyat said.
