As part of its efforts to promote the Jordanian tourism product, the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) will once again exhibit at the World Travel Market, which is one of the biggest tourism trade shows in the world. The show will be held on November 5-8 this year.

Heading the Jordanian delegation is HE Nayef Al Fayez, Minister of Tourism & Antiquities and Minister of Environment, accompanied by the Jordan Tourism Board’s Managing Director Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat. The Jordan stand, prepared by JTB, will include representatives from the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, Royal Jordanian Airlines, 14 tour operators, and 5 hotels, as well as the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the Petra Park Authority (PPA).

Dr. Arabiyat emphasized the importance of Jordan’s participation in WTM, which features over 150 exhibiting countries from around the world. “Presenting Jordan at WTM ensures awareness of the Jordan tourism product, as well as places Jordan firmly on the world tourism map,” stated Dr. Arabiyat. The trade show allows exhibitors and trade pioneers and professionals to meet and network to form valuable future partnerships.

Making the Jordan stand more special this year are a few new features. The new 99 Things to do in Amman list will be promoted through specially-made goodies that include marked memory sticks, special Amman maps, and designed t-shirts bearing the 99 Things logo. There will also be a sandman there to create customized sand bottles, and a professional calligrapher creating special Arabic calligraphy designs for visitors. Top quality Dead Sea products will be given out to visitors of the stand as well.

Furthermore, among the planned events is a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the rediscovery of Petra, which Jordan celebrated on August 22nd of this year, the date that Johann Burkhardt reintroduced Petra to the western world in 1812. The celebration will include a large Treasury-shaped cake.
