Tourism revenues amount to $3 billion in first 10 months of the year

Sponsorship of Lawrence of Arabia film release: JTB is using the 50th anniversary release of the film and the promotion of a new blu Ray edition in the UK to promote Jordan and especially Wadi Rum. This activity includes a splash page on visitjordan.com specifically for Lawrence of Arabia to provide background information and further promote the destination, in particular Wadi Rum.

  • Full page ad in Food Travel: Food and Travel magazine is the trusted insiders’ guide to the world of gourmet travel and the magazine is available at selected supermarkets and all quality newsagents. Jordan Tourism Board is advertising in this issue to maintain the presence of Jordan after the 6 page editorial feature that appeared in the November issue. Circulation: 25,000.

Coop marketing Advertising: Jordan Tourism Board is supporting several tour operators via joint activities in December and January. These activities include advertising in major newspapers such as The Times or The Telegraph.

The Future of Medical Tourism in Jordan Conference: JTB London will attend the conference and host Jessica Bown, journalist that writes for Sunday Times, Daily Express and AOL among others; Jonathan Guilford, Deputy Editor of Healthcare Europa and Keith Pollard, Managing Director of Intuition Communication Ltd and treatmentabroad.com. Mr Pollard has been asked to deliver the opening speech of the conference sessions. This Conference held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Nayef Al Fayez, Jordanian Minister of Tourism & Antiquities, will take place in Dead Sea on Dec 9th & 10th in order to promote partnerships between the medical sector in Jordan and stakeholders, health support agencies and groups in the International and the region and to develop the sector and assist Jordan in becoming the leading regional country in medical tourism.

Destinations Manchester: This event gathers more than 20,000 visitors from the North of the UK interested in learning about destinations and looking for ideas to go on holidays. This is a perfect opportunity to meet people outside London and promote Jordan face to face as well as getting their feedback about Jordan. Destinations Manchester is sponsored by The Times and takes place in Manchester from the 17th to 20th January.

The Telegraph Adventure Show in London, Olympia: The Telegraph Adventure Travel Show is known by consumers as the place to go for inspirational travel advice from the experts, explorers, tour leaders and writers who will help them to discover the perfect adventure. In order to position Jordan as the ultimate adventure destination, Jordan Tourism Board has decided to be the Destination sponsor and exhibit in this show. This show takes place in Olympia on the 26th and 27th January and JTB will participate to promote Jordan as a truly unique adventure travel destination and offer advice on everything from organised tours, cultural experiences and trekking to exploratory journeys, overland trips, underwater discoveries, etc

Destinations London, Earls Court: Destinations is the leading consumer Show for travel connoisseurs hungry for inspiration and information. This Show offers JTB the opportunity to meet around 35,000 potential customers and allows us direct, face-to-face access to them. Destinations is sponsored by The Times and takes place in Earls Court from the 31st January to 3rd of February.

  • Mail on Sunday: Journalist Jini Reddy is in Jordan to try out psoriasis treatment at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel for a medical tourism feature in the Mail on Sunday. Jini is also writing a separate feature on staying at the Feynan ecolodge and visiting Aljoun for a hiking trip. Jini returns from her trip in December 2013. Circulation: 1,573,915.
  • Irish Independent: Nicola Brady is looking to do a general travel feature on Jordan, including visits to Wadi Rum, Aqaba and Petra. She will be travelling in January 2013. Circulation: 125,986.
