Dear members and friends,
The beginning of the year has given us lots of things to be optimistic about, we are participating in major travel and tourism fairs such as ITB, BIT, and ATM. I’m happy to share with you that our online presence is as strong as ever, and our numbers on facebook and twitter are still rising with constant efforts to capitalize on this presence. Facebook has over 156,000 followers whereas twitter has over 19,000. It goes to show that user interactivity with Visit Jordan’s social media outlets is gaining more momentum, and we are hoping to see this reflecting on the numbers of visitors to Jordan. Furthermore, we are looking forward to more road shows in the Far East and other targeted marketing activities.
In light of our budget cut this year, we have learned to compromise with this setback, and to optimize the outcome to our favor. It is our duty to have a more sustainable approach to everything that we do this year, so as to have better solutions that will fully utilize the resources that we have. Additionally, we are continuously meeting with our members to hear more about what we can do both short term and long term to better our results.
Finally, we are very optimistic that the Turkish airlines has opened a new route between Istanbul and Aqaba, that will be flying three times a week starting first of April. This will surely attract many tourists from Turkey and East and West Europe.
