Saltos Hotel, a joint venture funded in full by Zara Investment Holding (Zara) and wholly owned by the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) started its operations on Tuesday May 21, 2013. It is a non for profit project with all its proceeds intended to be injected back in the operation in order to ensure its sustainability.

The Hotel, which was inaugurated by Crown Prince HRH Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II, is the first classified hotel in the city of Salt (20 minutes outside of the capital Amman). HRH toured the hotel's facilities and was briefed by Lina Annab, General Manager of Zara Investment (Holding), on the renovation and the refurbishment that took place and which seeks to create an ideal training grounds for the trainees enrolled at the VTC's hospitality program.

Saltos Hotel is slated to be the first vocational training center in Jordan offering hands on training within an operating hotel. Annab said : "We are proud to launch Saltos as one of the company's distinguished initiatives that aims to develop the skills and build the capacities needed for the hospitality industry". She also highlighted that Saltos Hotel capitalizes on the successful partnership between Zara and the VTC. Over the past few years the hotels of Zara have trained hundreds of VTC students and hired many of them.

Annab emphasized that Saltos Hotel will allow a transfer of knowledge and skills needed for the hotel industry while at the same time provide job opportunities. Moreover, it is expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of the training of students enrolled at the hospitality program of this particular VTC.

Saltos Hotel is the first classified hotel in the city of Salt. The hotel offers 20 rooms as well as limited "upon request" food & beverage offerings. It also offers meeting services for up to 70 persons. In addition to providing quality applied training, two of its main objectives are to promote local tourism as well as contribute to the tourism infrastructure necessary in the city of Salt.

Zara Investment Holding Company is a major player in the tourism sector in Jordan, with investments across the Kingdom's governorates. It is the country's largest company in tourism investments in terms of its registered and paid capital. Zara employs 29% of all employees in the 5-star hotels sector and approximately 6% of those working in the travel and tourism sector in Jordan.
