Dear Members,

In our strive to achieve our goals and targets in marketing Jordan as a destination of choice and ultimately increasing the number of arrivals and the Petra visitors to achieve targets beyond the National Tourism Strategy we are constantly monitoring and assessing the feasibility of our marketing activities.

For the past couple of months we have been evaluating the activities of our market based representatives in relation to achieving the required number of visitors as well as the increase in the distribution base among other factors. We were very pleased to find out that there has been a considerable growth in many of our source markets and the work that has been achieved since last year and the beginning of the year is showing its results.

However regretfully it has come to our attention that the growth in the Italian market is not up to expectations and the return on investment in relation to the number of arrivals is not high enough. Therefore it has been decided to find a more feasible alternative to the marketing activities that we have been implementing so far. We would like to thank our office in Italy for all their great efforts and dedication in the past years and for the time being Marco Biazzetti from the office will continue working with the tour operators in Italy providing them with the support and also providing us with the PR support through the office until a new contract is finalized.

On another note we are in the final stages of completing the calendar of events for the summer activities which will encourage our summer visitors to prolong their stay in Jordan and enjoy all it has to offer.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer,
Sincerely yours,
Editor
