Japan - The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), wrapped up an exhibition in Tokyo and Osaka, featuring a series of promotional events. The exhibition included broad participation from Jordan’s tourism sector, alongside Qatari representation from Qatar Airways and Qatari destination management companies, highlighting joint efforts to position Jordan and Qatar as key destinations for Japanese travelers.
Representatives from the Jordan Tourism Board, the Ministry of Investment, and several Jordanian travel agencies participated in the exhibition, alongside the Jordanian embassy in Tokyo.
In Tokyo, the program began with a major tourism forum attended by numerous Japanese travel agency representatives. The forum featured a comprehensive presentation on Jordan’s tourism offerings, highlighting its unique blend of history, culture, and natural attractions. Jordanian tourism sector representatives also held direct business meetings with their Japanese counterparts, alongside media engagements highlighted the exhibition and its objectives.
In Osaka, the exhibition focused on promoting tourism and highlighting investment opportunities. A session showcased key investment sectors in Jordan, followed by bilateral meetings with Japanese companies and institutions. The day also featured a Jordanian hospitality event reflecting the kingdom’s traditional cuisine and heritage atmosphere, alongside media and tourism engagements emphasizing Jordan as a comprehensive destination for both tourism and investment.
Jordanian Ambassador to Japan, Nasser Shraideh, expressed pride in organizing the exhibition, noting that the event reflects the depth of Jordan-Japan relations and provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in tourism and investment. He stated, “Through these joint efforts, we aim to introduce the Japanese public to Jordan’s rich history and its unique tourism and economic offerings.”
Minister of Tourism & Antiquities, Dr. Emad Naim Hejazeen, emphasized that promoting Jordan in the Japanese market is a strategic step. He noted that Jordanian tourism offers unique attractions that appeal to Japanese visitors seeking exceptional cultural and historical experiences. “We are committed to strengthening cooperation with our partners in Japan and opening new avenues for tourism investment, contributing to the sector’s growth and supporting the national economy,” he added.
At the conclusion of the exhibition, Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Directoer of the Jordan Tourism Board, stated that the participation coincides with Jordan’s presence at the “Japan Expo,” where the Jordanian pavilion presents a comprehensive image of the kingdom, reflecting its history, culture, and tourism and investment offerings. “We take pride in the pavilion’s strong presence and positive engagement with visitors, which enhances Jordan’s international standing and opens new avenues for cooperation with the Japanese market,” he added.
The Jordanian pavilion at the international tourism exhibition in Osaka also attracted significant attention from Japanese and international media, with a series of press interviews held with the participating Jordanian delegation.
The meetings covered various aspects of Jordan’s tourism offerings and investment opportunities, while also highlighting the kingdom’s unique archaeological and tourist sites, including Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and wellness tourism destinations.
Jordanian musician Talal Abu Al Ragheb provided a distinctive cultural and tourism experience, showcasing Jordanian identity through music and cultural performances in both Tokyo and Osaka. He also participated in events at the Jordanian pavilion at Expo Osaka, adding an artistic and civilizational dimension that reflects the richness and authenticity of Jordan’s cultural heritage.
Japanese media expressed admiration for the Jordanian pavilion’s interactive content and advanced promotional materials, noting that the exhibition successfully combined tradition with modernity and showcased the diversity and richness of Jordan’s tourism offerings. They also highlighted Jordan as a destination that meets Japanese travelers’ expectations for authentic historical and cultural experiences.
Some media representatives noted that the event provided insight into promising investment opportunities in Jordan’s tourism sector, emphasizing that it strengthens Jordan’s position not only as a tourist destination but also as a regional investment hub.
They also affirmed that the Jordanian delegation’s efforts in Osaka represented a successful model of integrated tourism promotion, enhancing opportunities for cooperation with Japanese travel agencies and airlines, and paving the way for specialized media content to introduce Jordan to the Japanese audience.
